Meet the Doctor

Dr. Steven Kleen is a highly trained optometrists who will listen to your concerns and focus on your unique vision needs.

Comprehensive Eye Examinations at our Optometry Clinic

Regardless of your age or physical health, it’s important to have regular eye exams at our Lompoc optometry clinic.  Our comprehensive eye exam consists of various tests and instruments designed to evaluate the health of your eyes and the quality of your sight. These measurements range from simple ones, like having you read an eye chart, to cutting edge technology capable of safely scanning the tissues inside of your eyes. Our comprehensive eye exams check for cataracts, diabetic eye diseases, macular degeneration, glaucoma and eye disease from systemic problems. These eye diseases can cause vision loss and blindness if they are not detected and treated promptly. Testing for glaucoma begins with checking the eye pressure and evaluating your peripheral vision.

Checking for diabetic retinopathy involves dilating your eyes to fully visualize the back of the eye, called the retina. If we do find problems with your eyes, our eye doctors are highly qualified to treat and manage most eye conditions.

Contact Lens Exams

Contact lenses today are more comfortable and healthy for your eyes than ever before. New contact lens designs provide long-lasting moisture which can significantly reduce discomfort and dry eye. In addition, today's contact lenses incorporate superior optics leading to a better quality of vision.  Whatever your vision challenge, it can most likely be addressed with the wide array of contact lens options now available. Contact lenses will allow you to do all the things you enjoy without the inconvenience and hassle of worrying about your glasses.

Eye Conditions We Manage & Treat

Our optometrist can diagnose and treat many eye conditions including dry eye, red or itchy eyes, and eye pain. Dry eye most often occurs due to insufficient or inadequate tear production. Eye drops and eye ointments can help reduce your symptoms.

Pink eye or red eye is an eye infection that can be caused by a virus or bacteria. It most commonly occurs in children, but even adults can acquire it. Dr. Steven Kleen can diagnose your pink eye and provide a course of treatment to clear the infection.

LASIK & Refractive Surgery

Today’s life-changing refractive procedures make it possible to improve your vision to 20/20—or better and reduce or eliminate your need for glasses and contact lenses. You may have questions about whether you are good candidate for one of the many refractive surgery procedures currently available. Our doctor is an expert when it comes recommending the right vision correction option for you.
